Anxiety is SUCH a real thing, and doesn't discriminate. You see it in so many different forms, shapes & sizes, and it takes over so many peoples lives. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S. - affecting 40 million adults 18 & older.
I was 15. 15 years old when I started to deal with anxiety. I had just lost my brother, and my life felt like it came crumbling down. I can't even explain how hard it was for me to deal with my imbalance. Especially while being in High school, and being around large crowds. It got so bad that I started depending on medication to get me through the day. Panic Attacks happened way too often, and when my body REALLY panicked... I would physically get sick. I was a prisoner in my own body, and would do anything to get myself out of that state.
After graduating High school, I moved out on my own, and started noticing less, and less attacks, At some point, anxiety was pretty much a thing of the past, and I no longer took medication. Not sure how I "grew out of it" but I obviously wasn't complaining.
Then 2016 came and I think anxiety thought it was great to visit me again. I remember that year being a SUPER stressful school year, and once stress took over my life, anxiety did too. I still deal with it to this day, but I will say that its definitely NO WHERE near what it used to be. It exists, but I've learned how to just deal with. Because that's what happens when you have it. You deal with it.
I stayed away from taking medications, and have done my best to exercise, and not drink caffeine unless I absolutely feel its necessary. However, I have longed to find something that was natural and could help during times I felt helpless.
That's when I found out about H2OmFLOAT . I stumbled upon a IGTV video that my friend had posted about her experiences with anxiety and how she had gone to H2OmFLOAT for 3 float sessions, and it made her anxiety almost non existent. I was skeptical, but KNEW I needed to give it a try.
MY FLOAT SESSION DIARIES
Before I begin to explain my experiences with you, I want to give you a little bit more background information on what Float Therapy exactly is.
Float Therapy is a powerful tool for wellness, relaxation, pain relief and better sleep. As with any therapy, with regular use, its benefits are enhanced...Though flotation therapy is an "effortless" therapy, the body and mind actually learn how to relax into the float with each session.
The Royal Pods contain 10 inches of water, warmed up to 94 degrees matching your external body temperature. Wanna know how exactly you float? These pods are filled with 1000 pounds of Epsom salt. Its really like you're laying in the Dead Sea!
The Pod doors can stay open or closed, and lights and soft music are optional as well.
FLOAT #1: 60 MINUTES
I really didn't know what to expect from my first float. All I knew was that I was going to be floating in a pod. I was walked to my room (H2OmFLOAT has multiple rooms for the pods that include a shower and other necessities) and showered off and got in the pod. The room lights are motioned censored and turned off after a couple of minutes. I was ALREADY anxious because I didn't know how I felt about closing the pod door all the way. So, I kept it open the entire time, and kept the light in the pod on as well. I was so amazed on how well I was floating. It was so effortless, and so relaxing. My body was WEIGHTLESS and I was put into such a calming state. However, I couldn't fully relax. This was my first time doing something like this, and I didn't know how to just turn my body off. It didn't help that Blake and I watched The Ted Bundy files on Netflix the night before, so I was just as paranoid as they come. I think I got out after 30 minutes and went ahead and showered off.
My body the rest of the day felt so calm, so I knew going into the next float I'd do better!
FLOAT #2: 60 MINUTES
This float was probably my absolute favorite. My first and second float were 3 weeks apart due to traveling and working a whole bunch, but BOY was I so ready for this session. It was a Monday, and that prior weekend I had worked about 32 hours. I was on my feet the entire time, and my feet and back were in so much pain! Needless to say, I got in my pod and after 15 minutes, I relaxed into such a deep state. I kept the lights off this time AND closed the pod door. If you have back pain, or any other type of body ache, I cant recommend this enough. When I got out of the pod, my body felt so well rested, and more relaxed than after a deep tissue massage. This amazing feeling lasted ALL day long, even when I was at work; a place where I often times feel most anxious. I noticed myself not getting stressed out when we had tons of people around, or when I had a bunch of tables. This float was SUCH a successful one. Since my second float, I am happy to say that I haven't experienced a panic attack or have experienced as much back pain.
FLOAT #3: 60 MINUTES
This float was today, and just like the last float, I went the day after a loooong work weekend and looked so forward to it. These sessions were becoming so normal to me. It became a routine, and it was something I never knew I needed in my life!! I got in the pod, began to float, and drifted into a light sleep for about 35 minutes.
Sensory deprivation tanks help induce a deep state of relaxation (also called a “relaxation response” or RR) by turning down the body’s “fight or flight” stress response As you Float, about 80-90% of neuromuscular activity is decreased. Cortisol levels drop significantly, blood pressure lowers and a deep sense of relaxation starts to take over your body. .
When you're in these pods, you really have no care in the world, and as a person with anxiety, that's a feeling you absolutely YEARN for! I also am someone that deals with major back pain, so to be relived of pain is heaven sent. I am so blessed that H2OmFLOAT exists, and I'm excited to see where else it will take me :)

Epsom Salt is full of Magnesium and is easily/best absorbed through the skin to aid in reducing inflammation, muscle tension and increasing circulation of lactic acid.
